Sophie

Jake my nephew wanted a card for his girlfriend to celebrate the anniversary of their 1st year together. He arrived about 9 one evening, he knew exactly what he wanted, went through my stash, picked the flowers, ribbon, colour, and wording etc everything. Gave me some photo's, he wanted one in a heart on the front, and he wanted pages inside like a book, showing the photo's of their 1st year. OK I said when you you need it for?..........

I'll pick it up in the morning on my way to work if that's OK.......my jaw dropped...I'm not that quick at making cards at the best of times, let alone print the photo's, size them, frame them and and make a book... at 10 o'clock in the evening to be ready by 8 the next morning. So I explained it would take me a bit longer than that, he said OK I'll pick it up the day after. Well I did my best, had just finished it when he arrived at 8 in the morning to pick it up before he went to work, only had seconds to take a photo of the front, as he was running late, so I can't show the inside. He was well pleased with it, said thanks, gave me a kiss and rushed off to work.

Cool Santa

What do you do for a 21 year old nephew, traditional, robins, holly, religious, cute, no, no, noo....me I had no idea, went through all my sheets, Cd's etc. zilch...so I googled everything I could think of, sexy Santa girls, well I did that last year, Santa playing football, nothing..Arsenal Santa's nope.., cars.. now that might work, I finally found this little image, a bit 60's well yeah, A hippie sort of Santa and a cool Rudolf....plus a car..

I roughly cut up the image in my graphics program, and decoupaged it into a few layers, those antlers were fiddly, especially as I had decided to change the blade in my craft knife, silly me....grabbed hold of the blade and snapped it in two, the top part stuck right into my finger, ouch *###* so I had a plaster and sellotape wound around the top half of my finger to stop the blood going all over the card, every time I pressed down on the knife, it bl**dy hurt like crazy, but I persevered and this is what I managed to do.

After I decoupaged the image I glittered it up a bit. Then took an A5 topper from the Artylicious Seasons Greetings cd into my graphics programs and changed the colours a bit. Copied that into Greetings Card Factory and did the greetings and name. Once printed, I glittered the tree with black stickles then glittered the greeting, name and snowflakes with a glue pen and glamour dust. Added the image to the backing sheet and mounted it onto silver miri card. As it was larger than a folded A4 card, I cut down to size an A3 white perilised card, (Yes it's white) ...And managed to get no blood on it..

Hope you like it...

Thinking of You

This was for another member of the forum I belong to.

I wish I could get white to show up white in my photo's, no matter how many photo's I take the colours never come out right.

I used an A4 pearlized white card and did a funny fold, I don't know what the fold is called though. The Poppy Flower Faerie, was free in a craft magazine last year year she was decoupaged and highlighted using a Clear Sakura Stardust Pen, matted her onto red card and used the Sakura Pen to outline the mat, then popped a little gem in the center of the poppy. The poppies along the bottom and down the edge were decoupaged using a Duflex sheet, which I cut up so I could get some to use along the edge of the fold. I printed the sentiment and the insert directly to the card using my new toy, Greetings Card Factory, took a bit of playing around to get it lined up but I got there in the end.

I would love you to leave some comments if you have time...
