Sophie

Jake my nephew wanted a card for his girlfriend to celebrate the anniversary of their 1st year together. He arrived about 9 one evening, he knew exactly what he wanted, went through my stash, picked the flowers, ribbon, colour, and wording etc everything. Gave me some photo's, he wanted one in a heart on the front, and he wanted pages inside like a book, showing the photo's of their 1st year. OK I said when you you need it for?..........

I'll pick it up in the morning on my way to work if that's OK.......my jaw dropped...I'm not that quick at making cards at the best of times, let alone print the photo's, size them, frame them and and make a book... at 10 o'clock in the evening to be ready by 8 the next morning. So I explained it would take me a bit longer than that, he said OK I'll pick it up the day after. Well I did my best, had just finished it when he arrived at 8 in the morning to pick it up before he went to work, only had seconds to take a photo of the front, as he was running late, so I can't show the inside. He was well pleased with it, said thanks, gave me a kiss and rushed off to work.
The big red heart was cut with Robo from a free template by Silene on UKS.

Thinking of You

This was made for a member of a forum I belong to, she has recently undergone a serious operation, she never fails to make me smile when I read her postings... I hope this made her smile when she received it.

I used a green gold two tone paper for the top half of the card which was embossed using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Folder. The flowers petals were made from the same green paper and a dark gold paper using the Majestic Keepsake Board, popped a gold gem in the centre of each flower. The The paper used for the lower half of the card was from Paper Pizazz Heritage, although it doesn't show in the photo I highlighted the leaves with Stickles Icicle. Added a ribbon along each side and two layers of ribbon across the centre, a couple of little daisies with a gem in the middle to finish and a peel off for the sentiment.

Hope you like it

I would love you to leave some comments if you have time...

A Birthday Card for Tony

Here's the cards I made for Tony's Birthday, but with all the problems with my PC I never got around to posting it.

For the lower half of the card I used a navy blue stardream paper, embossed with the Perfectly Paisley Cuttlebug folder. Although the folder was too small for the length of the card, I managed to line it up and run it through twice, it turned out OK, you could hardly see the join (I hope).

For the top half of the card, I cheated a bit, it was a wallpaper sample I picked up from B & Q, it had large embossed hearts all over it, so I cut a strip of four hearts from it and stuck it onto the card. Used the Robo to cut out TONY from my favourite sparkly wrapping paper and matted it onto dark blue mirri paper. Did the same for the Happy Birthday. Added a some blue and white ribbon across the center, with a few diamond and blue gems. I made the embellishment with pearl strands that I had cut from some silk flowers that I had, made a little satin blue bow, and cut a tiny heart with the Robo which I glittered. Then I added a ribbon across the top, and attached a pretty dangly thing with a diamond brad. I bought the dangler with quite a few others at Ally Pally but I hate using them.... I like them too much, but this one was going to a good home...

My sister Dawn made this for Tony.

No..he's not a bricklayer but.... it's very apt as he is building our extensions at the moment and has been bricklaying for a couple of weeks.. We both thought it was a great card..

Hope you like them,
Would love some comments

Our Anniversary Cards

We celebrated our Anniversary a couple of weeks ago, I find men's cards difficult to do at the best of times, but cards for Tony I never have a clue. Anyway this is what I came up with.

This was made from 2 sheets of A4 card, It was a lovely shimmery champagne colour unfortunately it doesn't show well in the photo, it seems to have taken on a grey hue, just me, not a very good photographer. Used the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders again, I'm getting quite addicted to them. Put a brown ribbon across the card, to hide the join. The hearts are a die that I put through the big kick, I just reversed the colours, and added a few gems. For the sentiments I used Design Master and cut them out with Robo.

We received 2 lovely hand made cards..............

The one on left was made by my Sister, Dawn, the one on the right was made by our friend Kate, I thought both of them were lovely, it's great to receive a hand made card.
If you see this, thanks to you both. xx

Hope you like them,

Another 2 cards

A happy one and a sad one.

Sadly a friend of ours passed away, so I had to make a Sympathy Card.
I've never had to make one before, and hope it will be a very long time before I have to make another one. Amethyst Stardream card embossed with the Cuttlebug Birds & Swirls folder, which was matted onto purple mirri card, onto a Ivory pearlescent card, made a small bouquet of flowers for the embellishment, with some purple ribbon and punched the corners.
I tried to keep it simple.

On a happier note, a Birthday Card, cut & embossed using the Elegance and Fantasy Board by Keepsake, Anthracite Stardream Card for the base, for the segments I used the Centura Pearl Embossed Spiders Web card in Platinuim, added some peel offs and some gems, made a couple of little flower posies and a double bow to finish it.

Bye for now

Babies

Had to make a couple of baby cards, why do I never have the right colour accessories when this happens..... here's what I managed to make.

Used Cuttlebug heart blocks folder on crystalline shimmer card and mounted the decoupaged image onto it, added a bit of crystal glitter, used peel offs for the name.
I border punched some gingham card and wrapped it around the back of the card, added ribbon along the card and made a little bow. Added some peel offs and a couple of bought embellishments.

I think it would have been better if I'd left the embellishments off.

Used a Bookatrix board for this one. Added a feather, ribbon and bow. Baby image decoupaged, with a bit of glitter. Designed the name in Design Master and cut with Robo. Mat was cut using mirri card, top cut in white card and glittered with glamour dust. Added a bought satin teddy, and dress embellishment.

As far as the Blog layout is concerned I still haven't been able to resize the header but I've got rid of the box that surrounded it and I've added a few more blogs to my list that I visit.

Getting there slowly..........
Hope you enjoy looking,

Here goes... My first attempt at loading some cards

You will probably guess this was for my Mum's Birthday.
I wanted something a bit bigger than the normal A4 gate fold card, so I used 2 A4 cards. The heart was made using a keepsake board. The sentiment was cut using Robo, this was the first time I'd really used the Cuttlebug embossing folders...........now I've fallen in love with them.

The heart on the box was the original card I made for Mum but once I'd completed it I just didn't like it, thought it was a bit OTT, and I didn't like the colours, I would never had sent it to anyone, so I thought I'd pop it on the box.

I enjoyed making the card and liked the way it turned out, as I had to make a few anniversary cards, I thought I would use the same format, this is what I came up with...

The names and sentiments on both cards were cut using Robo and welded using the Design Master Software.from. The photo's are not very good, as the gold one looks a bit washed out, and the Ruby was in fact a white ice card from Keepsake.

These are the boxes that went with them.

The bow on the Golden Wedding box was made using a keepsake board. The hanging triple heart on the Ruby Wedding box was cut from a template someone shared on UKS, sorry I can't remember who designed it.

Phew....I've still got to get my head around the layout process, hopefully I'll do better next time.
I'm going to try and add some blogs to the list next, and I want to change the graphic in the heading.

Hope you enjoy looking and I'd love some comments...
