A fairy for Dawn....

Well if anyone still visits, I made this for my Sister. The beautiful  Fairy is by Linda Ravenscroft, from the Craft Creations CD, Enchanted. Although  Dawn is an Aquarius I liked Pisces, so decided to use her. I changed the colours in the program then let it turn it into a decoupage, then I saved it as a jpg, took it into Photoshop Elements and split up the file into individual components, then saved them as png files which I imported into Inkscape.  I traced them  in Inkscape and adjusted the decoupage to my liking, then I used my wonderful black cat cougar to cut it all out, so if I need to print and cut another one I have the file ready to go. YES!!
All the lettering was printed directly onto the purple card with my lazer printer, then I foiled it with my foil master, except the 50 which I cut with my cougar, so nothing was cut by hand ....not even the circles..Just a shame the flash intensified the glitter it was a bit more subtle, hope you like it.
Oh and don't forget to go and check out Donna's weekly candy, (link on my sidebar), I was lucky enough to win it a couple of weeks ago, so I have some beautiful roses and more lovely charms to play with.. thanks Donna.

Would love to know what you think...

Hello again..I love fairies..

Thought I put up a fairy or 2, seeing as I've not posted for a bit. I love this fairy and found it very difficult to part with her, but as it was for my sister birthday, I let her  fly away.... sob sob...but I made myself a bigger one to keep....lol..in different colours I'll post her when I've taken a photo.  The gorgeous fairy is from Craft Creations Plus Enchanted CD, the artist is Linda Ravenscroft and I've just treated myself to the latest CD which is the POW on C&C.

I played around with the decoupage a bit and gave her lots of fairy dust in the form of crystal glitter and silver stickles. A bit fiddly in places but worth it I thought.
The gorgeous flowers were from Hobby House,  and I must admit I love them, added a bit of glitter to them as you do. Punched the leaves added more glitter.

The greeting I did on the pc on white card, cut the shape with my robo using a file that was a freebie from Birds Cards, I just changed the size and coloured  it using  dusty concord distress ink. Ribbon was white from stash, coloured with the same distress ink. Printed the backing paper which was a freebie from Making Handmade Cards,  I changed the colour a bit to match the card.

Thought I have a go at the following Challenges..
Magical Monday Challenge: Anything Goes
and
Flutter by Wednesday No 170

Hope you like it,..

Another one a bit different for me and I won some candy..

Hi everyone, I know it's been a while since I last posted anything, although I have been trying to keep up with everyone's blogs,.... if I haven't visited you yet I am catching up  slowly and I'll get there soon...

I made this for  Olivia, who loves drawing Manga characters, but as Ididn't have any Manga images I used the decoupage from a Rock Hard Fairies sheet, added a touch of silver stickles here 'n there and star dust on her wings. Printed the red sun burst and the greeting on photo paper, then used spray and sparkle over the greeting. Backing paper, black card and mirri paper all from stash. Coloured the little flower gems with permanent markers as I didn't have any black ones.
I know... I really should learn how to take a photo without making it look all wonky.
.
Hope you like it, Livvy did.

While I was trying to catch up I visited Jackie's blog Day's in the Life of...who is part of the LaPashe DT, saw there was a candy on offer, I quickly put my name down on Sunday, the draw was Monday and yippee I won it. Thank you so much Jackie and Jak. If you haven't visited Jackie before pop along to her blog to see her lovely cards and have a laugh at her posts about her granddaughter.
I received my candy today from Jak the Designer, you've probably all visited Jaks blog Crafters Kitchen  but if you haven't it's a must see, beautiful cards and lots of free downloads too, fabulous..and she is showcasing  some cards made with the new soon to be released sheets. I bought quite a few of the Remember when Christmas series last year, and love them now I can make more for this year, plus I won the whole set of the new Flippin Xmas, can't wait to have a play, if you want to have a chance of winning them Karen another DT member is offering candy till Sunday..I feel I'd be too greedy  to go and enter, but why don't you go and see if you will be as lucky as I was.

Thanks for popping by..I really appreciate it..

A card at last..

Well I've finally got round to posting a card, lol.. I've nearly caught up on my blogging rounds, I've missed so much, wow you all make such beautiful cards. Here's a card I made for my niece Jessie, she has just graduated from Uni with a first class honours degree, I know she believes in fairies so I thought I'd make her a fairy card.

I've had the image for ages, found it somewhere on Google but don't know where. I think she's such a pretty fairy, I decoupaged her, (those circles were a pain to cut out), but I wanted the gold mirri card to show through them, matted and layered it, the backing paper is from a pad I bought at the range years ago, I loved the paper and couldn't part with it until now, lol..
Added a few roses and a charm. Jessie liked it,
Hope you do too

Fairy for a friend

Made this for a blogging friend, who has had a few stays in hospital lately. I know she's received it so can show it here now.

Edit...As Stef kindly suggested I've put it on Flutter by Wednesday.. well it's a fairy with 2 papers, just hope it's not too late..

Decoupage and glittered the fairy which is from Crafters Companions Flower Fairies CD, I chose her as I loved the colour and she is so dainty. I originally put her on a darker green background but didn't like it, then found the purple paper with the fern on it, so decided to go with the mauve, backing paper and velum from a pad I had.

Would love to know what you think..

I know a lot of you are experiencing the same problems as me with blogger, I've been trying to catch up on all the blogs I follow, sometimes the page loads, then IE says it cannot load the page, then I can't get to leave a comment, or I leave a comment and it doesn't show up, ......so if I've left you comments on the same card more than once, sorry, I just can't see the comments I've left, and it's not the comment will appear after approval thingy, and if I haven't left you a comment well I thought I had........ I wish there was some easy way that I could tell which posts I have commented on, or am I just cracking up.....will spend a few hours later checking on all the blogs that I thought I'd left comments on to see if they appear, by that time maybe blogger will behave.
Edit.... I've just realised why I can't leave comments on some blogs, it might help some of you too....google toolbar has a popup blocker on it, and depending on how the blog has it's comments page set up, the popup blocker is blocking it. I can't remember activating it, but I've turned it off now and can get to the comments page, now just hope this might be why I couldn't leave comments too. Now all I've got to sort is the IE problem, hope it cures this too.
Take care

Mums Card for Mothers Day..

Made this for my Mum, I received the flower fairy CD just in time to make this. I just loved the image but I couldn't decide which colour fairy to use, so I thought I'd use two colours.

Then I didn't have any backing paper that matched and as I didn't want to use any from the CD I inked up some embossed card, which I matted on to Mirri card. I used 2 A4 cards joined together to get the size right. Then I decided I wanted to use the flowers inside the card too so I had to put the words on the back of the card. Cut the greeting with Robo. By the time I'd added all the mats and layers it weighed a ton, it was a good job I didn't have to post it.

Mum thought it was lovely. Shame about the photo's will have to take the again at a better angle.

Would love to know what you think...

Grown up fairy..

I love fairies and thought this one was an adult one, so I decided I'd use it for my niece Rachel.

I've had this image for a while, it was a sheet by Audrey from The Lilac Garden. I increased the resolution and made the image larger, and added a few more layers to the decoupage, then gave her a touch of glitter.

Now I don't normally use backing papers, but thought I'd give it a go on this 8 inch square card. So from my stash of hardly used backing paper pads, I used a purple script paper and a blue floral paper which I inked a bit with a purple ink pad. Made the tag, printed the greeting on it, then coloured it using the same the purple ink pad. Added a few pearls, brads, ribbons and some flowers.

Hope you like it..

Thinking of You

This was for another member of the forum I belong to.

I wish I could get white to show up white in my photo's, no matter how many photo's I take the colours never come out right.

I used an A4 pearlized white card and did a funny fold, I don't know what the fold is called though. The Poppy Flower Faerie, was free in a craft magazine last year year she was decoupaged and highlighted using a Clear Sakura Stardust Pen, matted her onto red card and used the Sakura Pen to outline the mat, then popped a little gem in the center of the poppy. The poppies along the bottom and down the edge were decoupaged using a Duflex sheet, which I cut up so I could get some to use along the edge of the fold. I printed the sentiment and the insert directly to the card using my new toy, Greetings Card Factory, took a bit of playing around to get it lined up but I got there in the end.

I would love you to leave some comments if you have time...
