Two for Tony

Here a couple of cards I made for my hubby.

I never know what to do for him, I was going through some cd's trying to find something suitable, and found this on Joanna Sheens Fashion Boutique, no it didn't remind me of Tony, but I thought it looked a bit like Sherlock Holmes, and seeing as Tony always watches the old TV series, I decided to use it. Printed off the topper a few times and cut up the images to decoupage it. Backing paper and lace is from Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen range.

This card was for our Anniversary,
words cut on Robo, hope you like them, he did...well he has to doesn't he..lol...

Thanks for looking, your comments are always appreciated

Disco Diva

A bit of a fun card this one. As soon as I saw this flippin woman I knew exactly who I was going to make a card for using it. Our friend Bev, we met her & her husband in a bar on top of a mountain in Austria, during a snow storm, not much skiing took place that afternoon but we found a friendship that has lasted about 15 years. The first time we went to a round table ladies night with them she wore a dress just like this. The image so reminds me of her except for the ponytail..she's always the life and soul of the party. She loved it and immediately saw the resemblance.

The decoupage sheet is from La Pashe Flippin Women, although it doesn't show too well I used black and crystal glitter on each fringe of the dress. The disco ball was also glittered, I found the ball and the background on google images.

I really can't get used to this new blogger, images won't go where I want them to, and can anyone tell me where the spell checker has gone, 'cos I can't find it anymore, preview is nothing like what appears on the page either, I'll try again but think I'll have to switch back to the old one...

Thanks everyone for popping by and for taking the time to leave your comments, I really appreciate them

Another one a bit different for me and I won some candy..

Hi everyone, I know it's been a while since I last posted anything, although I have been trying to keep up with everyone's blogs,.... if I haven't visited you yet I am catching up  slowly and I'll get there soon...

I made this for  Olivia, who loves drawing Manga characters, but as Ididn't have any Manga images I used the decoupage from a Rock Hard Fairies sheet, added a touch of silver stickles here 'n there and star dust on her wings. Printed the red sun burst and the greeting on photo paper, then used spray and sparkle over the greeting. Backing paper, black card and mirri paper all from stash. Coloured the little flower gems with permanent markers as I didn't have any black ones.
I know... I really should learn how to take a photo without making it look all wonky.
.
Hope you like it, Livvy did.

While I was trying to catch up I visited Jackie's blog Day's in the Life of...who is part of the LaPashe DT, saw there was a candy on offer, I quickly put my name down on Sunday, the draw was Monday and yippee I won it. Thank you so much Jackie and Jak. If you haven't visited Jackie before pop along to her blog to see her lovely cards and have a laugh at her posts about her granddaughter.
I received my candy today from Jak the Designer, you've probably all visited Jaks blog Crafters Kitchen  but if you haven't it's a must see, beautiful cards and lots of free downloads too, fabulous..and she is showcasing  some cards made with the new soon to be released sheets. I bought quite a few of the Remember when Christmas series last year, and love them now I can make more for this year, plus I won the whole set of the new Flippin Xmas, can't wait to have a play, if you want to have a chance of winning them Karen another DT member is offering candy till Sunday..I feel I'd be too greedy  to go and enter, but why don't you go and see if you will be as lucky as I was.

Thanks for popping by..I really appreciate it..

For KT's challenge

Well this is a first for me, as I never done a challenge before but I had to make an exception for this one. My blogging buddy Shells' little Katie wanted to set a challenge on her mum's blog. She provided us with a sketch and the theme was cute, cuddly and romantic...I don't normally do cute and cuddly so had to search for an image..found this one on GFC, printed it off a few times and decoupaged it up. Why not pop along to Shells blog and join in with KT's challenge. Good Luck with the challenge KT hope you get loads of entries.

Been slacking on the blogging again, I catch up,.. leave it for a few days, but as you all make such amazing cards and so many of them, it takes me hours and hours to look at them all, I intend to try and catch up again with everyone later this evening. I also want to say thanks to everyone for the lovely comments you left me on my previous posts.

A card at last..

Well I've finally got round to posting a card, lol.. I've nearly caught up on my blogging rounds, I've missed so much, wow you all make such beautiful cards. Here's a card I made for my niece Jessie, she has just graduated from Uni with a first class honours degree, I know she believes in fairies so I thought I'd make her a fairy card.

I've had the image for ages, found it somewhere on Google but don't know where. I think she's such a pretty fairy, I decoupaged her, (those circles were a pain to cut out), but I wanted the gold mirri card to show through them, matted and layered it, the backing paper is from a pad I bought at the range years ago, I loved the paper and couldn't part with it until now, lol..
Added a few roses and a charm. Jessie liked it,
Hope you do too

I have been so naughty

Sorry people, I've been an absent blogger for too long, no it wasn't my garden or all the building work we have going on at the moment, (the dust & mess everywhere is driving me mad), the only room I feel comfortable in at the moment is my craft/computer room, I have made a few cards just haven't got round to posting them, why you might ask, well I found facebook, then I found the silly little addictive games, then I found farm town...and I have been escaping into my little farm, where money is easy to earn, houses are easy to buy..and no dust or dirt..lol.
But its taken over my life and I've got to stop, so this weekend I intend to try and catch up with all my blogging, sorry for my lack of comments to you all, will try and get round to everyone this week, and I'll post some cards soon.
I hope when I do start posting you will be able to leave some comments as I've had to change the comments settings as I've had some Chinese site spamming my comments, masses of comments on every post I've made, so I've had to sit and delete them all, now I've turned on comment approval and only registered users can comment, hope it doesn't cause you problems. Catch up with you soon

19 June 2009

Hi everyone, a card and a few thank you's..

Well, I've just about finished catching up with all the blogs I follow... I hope....I am amazed at all the beautiful cards you make, it takes me forever to get to see them all and leave comments, so if I've missed anyone out, sorry. I haven't had much time to keep up with my commenting recently, so I have to read through all the posts comments just to see if I've already left one, and when some have hundreds of comments ...it takes me forever,.... if anyone know a quicker way of checking it out, please let me know I would be so grateful. The garden has taken over recently, I've nearly finished all the planting, digging, and cutting back, I've only got a bit more jet washing of the paving, then I can start enjoying it, that's if the weather gets better. Have been so lazy, instead of making cards in the evenings, I've just sat a watched TV, just not used to all that gardening, I've also got a pain in the neck (no not my hubby) so I can't sit at the PC or my laptop very long either, don't like this getting old....

A couple of Lovely Awards.... it's taken me a while to post about these.....

Nicola kindly gave me the Blog support award and Sassy the lemonade stand award, thank you ladies I appreciated them so very much. Most of you will already be followers of these two very talented ladies, but if you haven't visited their blogs recently please go and check them out, you won't be sorry, they are both amazing.

As I've already passed on the lemonade stand award and as I truly appreciate everyone who visits and leaves me such lovely comments I'm passing these onto all my blogging friends, so if any of you would like to accept theses awards with appreciation and love from me, please take them for your blog.

Here's a card I made very quickly a couple of months ago, I got a phone call from my nephew Joe to say he'd passed his driving test, he never told anyone he was taking it and passed first time. I was seeing him the next day so had to make a quicky card. I printed the words directly to the card using GCF, decoupage the car which was a La Pashe sheet, also decoupaged the torn L plate. And if you're wondering what the next big challenge is....inside it said .....paying for the insurance....
Would love to know what you think....

Joe's 21st

I find cards for men difficult at the best of times, and this one was for one of my very special nephews, Joe was 21 back in April, and I wanted something different for him, this is what I came up with, finished it at the last minute, and had to give it to him that evening, I've only just managed to borrow it back to get a photo of it.

The front.....
As a youngster Joe loved the Star Wars Movies, Tony & I used to take him to the West End to see the films when they were released, so I put a photo of him as a child into the banner as a character from Starwars. He's just bought himself a new Mini, so I used an online graphics program and put his photo on one, printed it off a few times then decoupaged it, with quite a lot of layers. All I needed was a background so put another photo of him on a graffiti wall. Mated and layered it all onto silver and black miri card.

At the moment Joe works in a pub and I need something for the inside of the card, I had two images in mind, but I couldn't decide which one to use, so I used both of them.
I decoupaged a barmaid from a sheet I had and on the other side I used one of the Flippin Men sitting on a beer barrel, which you could spin around to see his back.
I didn't like the checked cap on the man so coloured it using a felt tip. This was a big card, A3 folded, just trimmed down on the length a bit. Weighed a ton, good job I didn't have to post it.

Would love to know what you think...

Thanks Vikki & Val...and my poor plants...

First some Good News, Look what I won...
I'd like to say a big Thank You to Vikki from Vikki's Albums, for the lovely candy she sent to me, Vikki has been offering a weekly candy draw and I was lucky enough to win it last week, even though her little boy was poorly she made time to send it out to me. Thanks so much Vikki, why not pop over to her lovely blog and have a look round and maybe enter this weeks candy.

More Good news...

A couple of months ago Val made a post offering to send 5 people one of her cards, so I put my name down..what a lovely surprise I had when I opened the post to find not only a lovely card but a shoe topper too. Part of the deal was you had to post the card on your blog when you received it, so here it is along with the topper, if you want to see more of Vals' lovely cards why not go and pay her a visit at Vals Craftroom.
Thanks you so much Val, they are lovely.

......Now for a Moan.. just me letting of steam...
As you know the weather has been lovely, so when I wasn't working or doing housework etc, I spent as much time as I could in the garden, I have loads and loads of pots to plant up, some of the large pots have half hardy shrubs in them which I keep in my little greenhouse over winter, they usually come into life in the spring, but something was wrong this year, had a dig through the soil of one pot and there were no roots on the plant. They had all been eaten, then I found out the cause, loads of horrible little SH**S called Vine Weevils grubs, aptly named I thought..(If you want to see the horrible things look here)
I had to go through all the pots, dumping the soil onto some plastic, picking out all the grubs and squashing them (a murderer I know but you have to destroy them) then I noticed the adult crawling along so I squashed that too., felt no guilt what so ever....so then on to the next pot, it was also infected..and the next and the next, in all I had about 7 very large pots that had been infested, one containing a beautiful climbing plant that Tony had bought for me in Spain as part of my Pearl anniversary pressie almost 9 years ago, they were also in half a dozen or so smaller pots which contained some large fuchsias.
I've bagged up the old soil, and hopefully made sure there were no grubs or adults in it, I'll have to treat it in some way before I dump it. I had an infestation a few years ago and lost a lot of plants, and since then have been using a chemical which you water into the soil to kill the grubs, but it doesn't seemed to have worked as this year they are back, so I'm on look out for something else to try, as it costs us a fortune to replace all the compost and plants.
...Moan Over...
As I'm not working today, I was going to check out the last few pots and go and buy some more plants, but it's raining, so I thought I catch up on the house work then go and visit all the blogs I follow, I'll be back later to post a couple of cards, see you soon & take care

30 May 2009

Well I haven't got round to posting any cards this week, the garden is taking over at the moment, and as it's another beautiful day here, I'll be out there digging and planting again.
But.. I have received two lovely awards and thought I'd make a quick post about them..

The first one is the Inspiration Award from the lovely Vikki, thank you so much Vikki, I really appreciate it. If you haven't visited Vikki yet why not pop along and see her fab blog and while you are there maybe you would want to join in her blog candy.

"The Inspirational Award" you can nominate as many blogs as you would like to receive it, put the award on your blog and leave a comment,.. BUT, this is the twist, you have to tell a fact about yourself that no other bloggers know and put it on your blog,
....well I don't think I've told you this before but I am a hoarder of memories.., I keep everything, to name but a few..I've got theater, film and concert programs with the tickets and some from clubs/disco's..going back years & years,.. beer mats, book matches, & serviettes from all the places we've visited, I keep all close family cards that I receive, so I have boxes and boxes of them. My Mum started me off on this., so I've even got some of my first Birthday cards, and of course I keep all the handmade cards I receive, I also keep drawings, letters and poems from my hubby and family, and I've still got all our old records..45's , LP's and some 75's .. just to name but a few of the memories I keep.....
and as there is no limit to the amount of people you can pass it onto I'll only name a few
Nicola...Nicola's Creations
Debs..Debs Bat Cave
Lisa...Lisa's Stampin Weblog

and I'm also giving it to everyone who reads this and would like to take it, as I think you all deserve it...I would pass it on personally but the sun and garden all calling.
..........................

The 2nd award is the Lemonade Stand award. From my lovely blogging buddy Lisa..It’s an award for bloggers that show great attitude and gratitude, Lisa certainly fits the bill perfectly.Thank you so much Lisa, I so appreciate you thinking of me for this ....please go and have a look at Lisa's lovely blog and while you are there why not enter for her gorgeous Candy.

Decisions, I am so bad at making them...but I'm passing this onto
Vikki....Vikki's Albums
Bea.. My Little Piece of Heaven
Sylvia...Craftycuttlebug
Liz..Lace Ribbons Buttons & Bows
Shell..Shells cards and things
as I don't think they have received it yet..and who all have beautiful blogs, with great attitude as well as gratitude.

The rules for this award are:make a post about it....cut and paste the award logo and use it on your own blog, nominate 5 to 10 blogs you feel show great attitude and gratitude..link to your nominees within your blog post....comment on their blogs to let them know they received the award...link back to the person who gave you the award to show your appreciation

Now I've just got to pop along and let you lovely ladies know you've got them.
Have a great weekend, I'll be back with a card soon.

Fairy for a friend

Made this for a blogging friend, who has had a few stays in hospital lately. I know she's received it so can show it here now.

Edit...As Stef kindly suggested I've put it on Flutter by Wednesday.. well it's a fairy with 2 papers, just hope it's not too late..

Decoupage and glittered the fairy which is from Crafters Companions Flower Fairies CD, I chose her as I loved the colour and she is so dainty. I originally put her on a darker green background but didn't like it, then found the purple paper with the fern on it, so decided to go with the mauve, backing paper and velum from a pad I had.

Would love to know what you think..

I know a lot of you are experiencing the same problems as me with blogger, I've been trying to catch up on all the blogs I follow, sometimes the page loads, then IE says it cannot load the page, then I can't get to leave a comment, or I leave a comment and it doesn't show up, ......so if I've left you comments on the same card more than once, sorry, I just can't see the comments I've left, and it's not the comment will appear after approval thingy, and if I haven't left you a comment well I thought I had........ I wish there was some easy way that I could tell which posts I have commented on, or am I just cracking up.....will spend a few hours later checking on all the blogs that I thought I'd left comments on to see if they appear, by that time maybe blogger will behave.
Edit.... I've just realised why I can't leave comments on some blogs, it might help some of you too....google toolbar has a popup blocker on it, and depending on how the blog has it's comments page set up, the popup blocker is blocking it. I can't remember activating it, but I've turned it off now and can get to the comments page, now just hope this might be why I couldn't leave comments too. Now all I've got to sort is the IE problem, hope it cures this too.
Take care

I'm so chuffed, thanks Bea for the Gift of Love Award

Look what the lovely Bea, from My Little Piece of Heaven has given me "The Gift of Love Award". Thank you so much Bea, I really appreciate you passing this on to me, well I'd really like to pass it onto everyone who pops onto my blog, but it seems like I've got to choose 5 people, so very difficult, and as the oven buzzers going, which mean dinner is ready (I know we eat late), I'll have a think and come back to it another time. Meanwhile if you haven't visited Bea yet , please pop along to her blog and take a look at her gorgeous cards.

I'll be back...
Well I'm back......I find this so hard picking blogs to pass awards on to as I love all the blogs I visit, I don't think the blogs I've picked have received this one yet, so I'm passing the Gift of Love Award onto
Sent with love from me to you..

For My Mum

First of all I'd love to thanks everyone for leaving me such lovely comments, they are all really appreciated.

I know it's ages since I put a card on here but the weather has been so good lately, on my days off work I've been trying to sort out our garden... I've been slow in trying to catch up on all the blogs I follow, almost managed it last week but some of you are so quick, I never seem to have the time to catch up.... and I haven't had much time to go on the forum, but I have managed to make a couple of cards recently, I just haven't got round to posting them, still trying to grab one back to take a photo of it as I didn't finish it until the last minute.

I had a great day Saturday at a play day organised by a forum friend, we made a lovely stationery box and a beaded flower, will definitely make some more of them, I'll post some pics another time. She provided everything we needed for the makes, we had a lovely lunch and great company, it must have taken ages to prepare everything so well and taken a lot of effort. So I would just like to say to her, thanks a million for a fantastic day.
But for now here's a card I made for My Mum.......

This was for Mums 82nd Birthday....before I started making cards I was never really bothered about the picture on the front of the card, I always concentrated on the verse inside, I still spend ages looking for a verse that will tell her how much I love and appreciate her...but don't think I can show it here..

Anyway..I've had this decoupage sheet for ages, I added some flowersoft to their flowers and hats, and printed the sentiment, the little angel pin on the sentiment was Mums, she was having a clear out, and asked me if I wanted it to use on a card.... now she's got it back... I wasn't going to add the little flower gems, but the border punch got stuck and I tore the corner of the punching so I put a little flower gem on it to cover it up, then I as I was sticking down the flowers I managed to mark the ribbon with the pinflair glue, I tried to remove it but it left a mark , so I had to add some more gems to hide the mark.... sometime things never go according to plan,

Would love to know what you think...

Thanks for the lovely award Liz

Liz who has two lovely blogs gave me this award, thanks a million Liz, I really appreciate it. Please go and check out her blogs, the first one is for an ATC swap. Liz runs the Drayton Lady ATC swaps on the Trimcrafts forum, and has set up this blog to showcase them, maybe sometime I'll get round to making some ATC's, when I do, I know I'll find lots of inspiration here . Liz's other blog is for her card making and ATC's why not pop along and have a look here to see all her lovely creations.

Well as usual this award has got rules, here they are copied from Liz's blog.
You have to give it to a new blog that you have recently come across.
Let them know they have an award, then they must mention your blog when accepting the award .
Now here's the hard bit....you must pass it onto 15 other new blogs that you have just recently come across.
......Well this is going to take me a bit of time, but it's going to be fun finding all those lovely blogs..I'll post the new blogs here as I come across them and pass on the award,.. if I give you the award I'd love you to leave a comment to let me know you have accepted it.... they will be in no particular order, ...so I'd better get a move on and start looking...

Here goes....

I've have found a truly beautiful blog, if anyone reads this then you should really go and check out Anias' Blog, Poddasze her work is absolutely stunning and very different, it's all in Polish but who cares the photo's say enough, I just hope she can understand that I've passed the award to her.

No 2... I've found another lovely blog, fab cards and very entertaining , you've probably already found this one but it's new to me, why not go and have a look at Stefs, Glitterbabe Greetings, you won't be dissapointed.

Sophie

Jake my nephew wanted a card for his girlfriend to celebrate the anniversary of their 1st year together. He arrived about 9 one evening, he knew exactly what he wanted, went through my stash, picked the flowers, ribbon, colour, and wording etc everything. Gave me some photo's, he wanted one in a heart on the front, and he wanted pages inside like a book, showing the photo's of their 1st year. OK I said when you you need it for?..........

I'll pick it up in the morning on my way to work if that's OK.......my jaw dropped...I'm not that quick at making cards at the best of times, let alone print the photo's, size them, frame them and and make a book... at 10 o'clock in the evening to be ready by 8 the next morning. So I explained it would take me a bit longer than that, he said OK I'll pick it up the day after. Well I did my best, had just finished it when he arrived at 8 in the morning to pick it up before he went to work, only had seconds to take a photo of the front, as he was running late, so I can't show the inside. He was well pleased with it, said thanks, gave me a kiss and rushed off to work.
The big red heart was cut with Robo from a free template by Silene on UKS.

Wow, wow, wow, look what I won

Been so busy this week, haven't had a chance to show any cards, but have a few to post hopefully tomorrow, so please check back.

Well I turned on the PC this morning to have a quick peek and what a great surprise I had, LOOK WHAT I WON..

Isn't it fabulous....I was so excited I ran down to Tony, who was just finishing off building a brick wall at the time and said quick, you've got to come and see what I've won, (I think he thought I'd won the lottery by the way I was carrying on), then I told him I won some Candy, what's that he said, thinking why does she want to win sweets... I explained ...but he said he couldn't leave the cement in case it went hard, he did come up later though and said it was lovely and then went back to finish the wall. Doh....So I phoned my sister, and told her, as she is a crafter she understood why I was in ecstasy, great ..more goodies to share..

All I can say is thank you so much Debbie, for offering up this wonderful Candy, I am thrilled to bit that I won it. Please go and check out Debbie's wonderful blog Debbie's Place and take a while to browse her lovely designs.

I can't wait to get my hands on it all, he, he, he

A card for Lisa

I've been so busy lately trying to sort out my hard drives, I've just managed to catch up on the blogs I visit, I really don't know what eats up my time. Anyway here a card I made.

I wasn't really happy with this one. I'd really wanted these keepsake sheets so put them on my Christmas list and my nephew Joe bought them for me. I thought I'd better make one up.. then I couldn't decide if I like it or not so I took it down to my Mums to get opinions, my niece Lisa loved it and said she would love it for her Birthday card. I kept asking her if she was sure....

It's not what I would have chosen to make for her, it was just too mauve and dark for me. I tried to brighten it up a bit with some glitter, gems and flowers, but it still didn't ring my bell. I mounted it onto an A5 card so I could do an insert with some nice words.

She loved it though, and keeps asking me why it's not on my blog, so here you go Lisa..it's on here now.

Would love to know what you think...

27 March 2009

Mums Card for Mothers Day..

Made this for my Mum, I received the flower fairy CD just in time to make this. I just loved the image but I couldn't decide which colour fairy to use, so I thought I'd use two colours.

Then I didn't have any backing paper that matched and as I didn't want to use any from the CD I inked up some embossed card, which I matted on to Mirri card. I used 2 A4 cards joined together to get the size right. Then I decided I wanted to use the flowers inside the card too so I had to put the words on the back of the card. Cut the greeting with Robo. By the time I'd added all the mats and layers it weighed a ton, it was a good job I didn't have to post it.

Mum thought it was lovely. Shame about the photo's will have to take the again at a better angle.

Would love to know what you think...

Been Busy.. and thanks ladies

Who's a lucky bunny then..

ME... In the morning, if I have time before I go to work, I have a quick look on some my favorite blogs, I'll leave some comments or make a mental note to go back later. This morning I had a quick look on Nicola's blog, she had a link to some Candy from Susie at Sassy Designs by Susie at Die Cut Dreams, thought I'd go check it out, hoped over there, had a quick look around, did a link to her candy, the photo & link is on my side bar, and as I loved her blog I became a follower. Well I got home from work & thought I'd have a quick look at the forum I belong to, before I went out again, (I know no peace for the wicked)...only to find that I'd got a pm, it was from Nicola, telling me to pop over to Susie's blog, so I went and had a look, only to find that she had a surprise gift, for her 300th follow, and..well can you guess..it was me.

Here's a photo of what I've won.
Thank you Susie, for your generous gift, I am well chuffed, and thanks for your comment on my cards...

If you haven't entered for Susie's candy, you have until Saturday...and while you are there have a look at the beautiful cards and albums she designs too.

Art Nouveau Lady

Made this for a forum friend, who had to have some hospital treatment recently, also to thank her for a lovely craft day she held a couple of weeks ago, where she not only supplied us with all the goodies to make a lovely card and a box, she laid on a lovely buffet, and was a wonderful tutor. I must get the photo's from my sister who came with me and show you what we made there. I can post the card now as I know she has received it.

I was having a play with backing papers again, matted them onto brown pearlised card, then onto gold miri card. The image was from a sheet of wrapping paper I bought ages ago, which I cut up and decoupaged. Printed the sentiment in gcf, added some bits and pieces, oh and used my nesties.

Hope you like it.

Grown up fairy..

I love fairies and thought this one was an adult one, so I decided I'd use it for my niece Rachel.

I've had this image for a while, it was a sheet by Audrey from The Lilac Garden. I increased the resolution and made the image larger, and added a few more layers to the decoupage, then gave her a touch of glitter.

Now I don't normally use backing papers, but thought I'd give it a go on this 8 inch square card. So from my stash of hardly used backing paper pads, I used a purple script paper and a blue floral paper which I inked a bit with a purple ink pad. Made the tag, printed the greeting on it, then coloured it using the same the purple ink pad. Added a few pearls, brads, ribbons and some flowers.

Hope you like it..

Anyone want a card made by me??

I saw this on Vals blog... Valscraftroom. Now I don't normally go into things like this, as I never know if I'll have the time to commit but on reading the rules.. No 3 states sometime this year.. I know it say most likely in the next month so I'll warn you, I'm always late for everything but get there in the end...
I love Vals cards and so I thought why not give it a go, and I got lucky.

So here are the rules....
Quote:
The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you!
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make --- but I hope you do!
2- What I create will be just for you --- one of a kind!
3- It'll be done sometime this year (most likely it will be in the next month.).
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. Well, a pretty good bet it will be made of paper!
5-The catch?
Oh, the catch is that you must re post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog!
The first 5 people to leave a comment win a handmade card or gift (or both! - can we say Candy?) by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! So....who will be the first 5 people????? Please??? 5????Ready, set GO!who will the first five be?

Now I don't suppose anyone would want to take me up on this, but if you do, leave me a comment.

For the No. 1 Arsenal Fan

My nephew is Arsenal Crazy, always has been, he's been working for them part time since he was 17, he coaches kids at the Arsenal on Saturdays, and at the Arsenal Soccer Schools during the school holidays and after school, so what do you do for his Birthday well it has to be an Arsenal Card.

I couldn't decide which image to use, so thought I'd make an A4 card and use both of them, did quite a few layers of decoupage & mounted them onto miri board. The verse I used on the inside was one Louise Emma posted on the imag-e-nation forum ages ago, I adapted it a bit for The Arsenal. Thanks for that Lou, I knew it would come in handy.
Oh and when it open it played Match of the Day, lol

He liked it, hope you do too.

Wow, I got another 2 awards, from my Blogging buddies.
Shell passed this one back to me thanks Shell, you have got to go and look at Shell's Cards & Things.. her latest card is just beautiful, it's her first attempt at parchment craft, and it looks like she has been doing it for years. I love visiting her blog for both inspiration and to see what else she has been getting up to.
As I've already given this award to my best commenter's, I'll delay passing it on, you never know someone might just get it in the future.

Joolse I've only just discovered Joolse blog , if you've got a Robo then you should go check it out, she shares her designs, has great tutorials, and has some super cards
Jak, Karen & Bev.. well what can I say.. except how can they not be in my top 10, if you have never visited their blogs you don't know what your missing, everything they do is just so stunning.
The rules:
1. The winner may put the logo on their blog.
2. Put a link to the person who sent you the award.
3. Nominate 10 blogs.
4. Put links to their blogs.

What I used to make Mason into a cartoon

Some of you here and on the forum wanted to know how I made Mason into a cartoon, well I spent ages using my graphics programs and doing tutorials, but didn't get one decent result, then I found BeFunky, an online cartoonizer, made the cartoon in that, then adjusted the result with Ulead PhotoImpact.

Hope you find it useful... go and have some fun...

Cartoon Time and a bit of a waffle

Wasn't going to put this on here as the photo's are terrible, then thought what the heck.. Made this for Mason, my great nephew back in January. I'd got the flu and felt awful, got home from work about 4 and had to be at his party by 6. I'd finished the card, only had to print the insert.

1st attempt.... The paper slipped and I had to do it again
2nd attempt... It printed OK, then I realise I'd made it in portrait and it should be landscape.
3rd attempt... Re sized it, moved everything around, re did the border it looked fine...I printed the top half, looked good, folded it the other way printed it, went to stick it in the card then realised that I'd put the fold to the wrong side.... so the top of the insert was upside down.
Now your probably thinking why did she fold the insert in half to print...well I was using an A3 sheet folded in half as I've only got an A4 printer, and why did I do an insert, with so much on it, well....I'd got all these other images that I wanted to use..my brain was just not functioning, I got it right in the end though.

Now for the photo's, It was dark, I was already late for his party...I snapped away, with a light shinning on it, didn't have time to look at them on the PC, so it ended up with me not getting even one that was halfway decent, shadows everywhere or too light. I really shouldn't have got up that day. I'll have to ask if I can have the card back and try and get a better photo. Anyway I've put 2 pics on here one very light and grainy the other full of shadows and grainy, can't make up my mind which is the better of the two, it's a shame I never got a better picture.

Now Mason just loves Tom & Jerry and 101 Dalmatian's, so I thought I make a card with them on it. Found the images on google, decoupaged them, then I searched for a background I could use as I didn't want them to be floating around in the air.
I had a photo of Mason and he was laying in almost the same position as Jerry, so I tried to cartoonize (think that's a word) the photo, decoupaged it and put him next to Jerry on the card.

As it was an A4 card I had a bit of space left so I added a few more decoupage Disney characters. Designed the greeting with design Master and cut them with Robo from sparkly silver paper with a blue miri card mat.

He was well chuffed.. Look Mummy that's me with Tom... he love the inside too, so it was worth all the faffing about, and he's still got it on a shelf in his bedroom.

Here is the original photo of Mason, which I used to make the cartoon image with
I would love you to leave some comments if you have time...

I got an award

My blogging buddy Louise Emma, has given me a Best Blog Comments Award, thanks Lou. I never thought when I started blogging that I would enjoy visiting all the blogs as much as I do. I wasn't sure about leaving comments on peoples blogs, as I didn't know them, now I know better... and I try to find time to leave a comment as often as I can. Now I've got to pass this on to 5 other people, well this is a bit difficult for me as I don't have many who leave me comments regularly,

So I would like to pass it to

Back to Louise

And I don't think Myra x has a blog but I would like to give it to her anyway.

Thank you Ladies for taking the time to comment, they are really appreciated.
